Bio

Kate Bero began working for the Migrant Clinicians Network in September 2007. She currently manages the organization's Immunization Initiative; a CDC–funded project that strives to improve immunization coverage for Hispanic migrants and their families.

Prior to this, Kate worked indirectly for MCN as a health educator for their Environmental Health Program. This program focused on training lay health advisors to educate migrant farmworker families about environmental health risks on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Kate's interest in working with Hispanic populations stems from her experiences living and studying in Central and South America. She received her BA from the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire in Latin American Studies.

Outside of work Kate enjoys hiking, camping, biking, swimming, running and most other outdoor activities. Originally from Wisconsin, she admits missing blizzards and snowshoeing, but she loves Austin's year-round farmers market.
