Maria de Jesus Diaz-Perez has a doctoral degree in Health and Behavioral Sciences from the University of Colorado and a Masters in Social Psychology from the National Autonomous University in Mexico City. Since 2011, she is the Research and Data Analysis Manager at Salud Family Health Centers (Salud), a Community and Migrant Health Center system in Northeastern Colorado. In this role, Maria works with different departments within Salud to define and produce measures that inform standard operations, clinical outcomes, and the implementation and evaluation of new programs to improve quality, tailor best practices, and promote health equity among Salud’s patient population. Since 2001, when she came to the United States, she has worked with Salud coordinating research and programs aimed at improving access to quality primary health care for vulnerable populations, many of them recent Latino immigrants, and migrant farmworkers. Maria has participated in numerous research projects in Mexico and the United States. She has collaborated in several publications, including journal articles and book chapters. She has participated in variety of forums in Mexico and the US disseminating program activities and research findings.
