Migrant and immigrant workers are employed in some of the most demanding and dangerous yet essential industries is the US. They labor tirelessly to harvest our food, build our houses, and landscape and clean our properties. And all the while, they contribute to our local economies and communities in enormous ways. MCN celebrates Labor Rights Week by thanking migrant and immigrant workers for this important work. Please help us this week and every week in reminding workers that they’re entitled to a safe and healthy workplace.

Here are a few worker rights’ resources:

  • MCN’s full color comic book Health and Safety on the Farm- It's your right and it's the law (available in English and Spanish) -- overviews workers’ comp and workers’ rights by telling the story of a Mexican dairy worker injured on the job and the steps he and his employer take to ensure he receives benefits and the farm improves safety.

  • "Protéjase" is a NIOSH effort to help organizations that serve Spanish-speaking immigrant workers raise awareness about occupational safety and health. The materials can be viewed and downloaded free of charge in English and Spanish.

  • OSHA reminds workers that safety and health on the job is their right and it’s the law! Their Job Safety & Health Protection Posters, available in English and Spanish, provide an overview of workers’ rights.
