2017 Non-Series Webinars Environmental and Worker Health Community Health Worker Series All education provided by guest speakers in this section supervised by Ileana Ponce-Gonzalez, CHWI CHWs play an important role in promoting health for immigrants and other vulnerable populations. Many issues may affect the health and safety of these populations. MCN’s CHW series examines issues around barriers to health and safety, rights of workers, exposures to chemicals and heat, as well as overviews of the clinical conditions prevalent in health centers funded by HRSA including how health outcomes are evaluated and the value of care provided within the health center. Our newest series includes information on five important clinical indicators: 1) Diabetes, 2) Prenatal Control, 3) Oral Health, 4) Hypertension, and 5) Mental health for health centers financed by HRSA. Through case studies and discussion we will highlight how CHWs can make a difference in the health and Safety of immigrants and other vulnerable populations.

Essential Clinical Issues in Migration Health
Migrant Clinicians Network designed this 6 part series for new as well as seasoned clinicians who are interested in understanding more about the migrant population. The six webinars cover a wide breadth of knowledge and skills to help clinicians provide quality care to one of the most difficult to reach populations in the United States.
Each module consists of a 1-hour webinar presented by experts in the field of migration health. Accompanying the webinars are links and resources for those who want even more in-depth information about the topic. Each presenter has many years of experience in migration health and brings the very best in cutting-edge skills and knowledge to this effort. Emphasis is placed on practical solutions to the difficulties that arise at the intersection of migration, poverty and health.
