AAPCHO’s OUR STORIES 2012: Empowering Healthy Communities national contest aims to explore the personal stories of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and other Pacific Islanders (AA&NHOPIs) across the country who benefit from and advocate for the care and services provided by their local Community Health Center (CHC). The goal of the Contest is to give CHC patients, staff, and advocates the opportunity to share their personal stories about how their local CHCs have improved the health and wellness of their community by empowering them to be leaders. Through a video, essay, or photo, Contest participants are invited to share their unique CHC experiences and how it has helped to shape who they are today as committed and healthy leaders in their communities.

- How does your CHC help you and others in your community (e.g. by providing primary health care, interpretation, transportation, counseling, and other services)? What do you think might happen if the services your CHC offered were no longer available to you or others in your community?
- Tell us how you think working at a CHC has impacted the way you practice medicine? Tell other health care providers (e.g. physicians, patient navigators, interpreters, etc.) why you think they should work at a CHC?
- What does it mean to be a CHC advocate or community leader? Why should someone advocate for your CHC? How do you and other supporters advocate for your CHC?
