Friday has arrived! We are ready for the weekend, but before we go, here’s our weekly rundown of articles and announcements about health justice, recommended by our MCN staff.

Amy shared some much-needed positive news out of Washington, DC: “EPA backs down from plan that could have allowed youth farmworkers to handle pesticides.”

Jillian forwarded on the NPR article about Chico, where the MCN West Coast office is located, just down the hill from what once was Paradise, California: “In The Aftermath Of The Camp Fire, A Slow, Simmering Crisis In Nearby Chico.”

Del shared new materials by the Institute for Mexicans Abroad that aim to make information more accessible in a variety of indigenous languages including Náhuatl de la Huasteca and Zapoteco de la Planicie Costera.

Del also sent along this new fact sheet from the American Immigration Council: “Workers with Temporary Protected Status in Key Industries and States.”

Claire recommended this Vox article, “Three Big Takeaways from the Disasters that Hammered the US in 2018.” (Spoiler alert -- number three is that “we’re still not planning adequately for these disasters.”)
