Ventanilla de Salud - Del Rio, Texas

In December 2020, MCN became the fiscal agent of the VdS of the Mexican Consulate in Del Rio, Texas. VdS Del Rio serves Val Verde, Tom Green, Sterling, Coke, Runnels, Irion, Concho, Pecos, Crockett, Scheincher, Sutton, and Terell counties. Among its many efforts, VdS Del Rio seeks to increase its presence in the community by bringing its services to the neediest populations. Located near the Mexican border, in a community with a large population of Mexican descent, VdS Del Rio maintains a very important relationship with the health authorities of both countries, allowing it to educate and serve everyone in the community. 

Likewise, in collaboration with the Trinational Health Council, COTRINA, this VdS works throughout the year so that the community has access to free health services, assistance in obtaining health insurance, eligibility programs for people who do not have insurance, and legal advice for social assistance, to mention a few services.  COTRINA is made up of authorities from the government of Mexico, the consulates of Guatemala and Mexico, non-governmental agencies, and the local authorities of Del Rio. 

VdS Del Rio staff visit the city of San Angelo six times a year, covering the needs in that city.
