Another very full week here at Migrant Clinicians Network! Here are some updates from the world of public health and health justice that we thought you’d enjoy, chosen by MCN staff members.

Painting representing mutation

Alma shared “The Problem With Stories About Dangerous Coronavirus Mutations,” to which Ed responded that the article “does a good job in explaining this new research and, as always, this preliminary study is too early to tell how significant it really is to the big picture of the pandemic. Unfortunately, every time some new information comes out it is interpreted by individuals who want something new to talk about and they often cherry pick the information to meet whatever agenda they are promoting.”

Weekly Win: Rapidly implemented intervention strategies, paired with knowledgeable and trusted outreach teams, can save lives and stop the spread. Claire shared, “‘It’s Miraculous’ — No Known Coronavirus Cases in Acadiana’s Homeless Shelters.” As farmworkers begin to arrive at farmworker housing across the country, the lessons here are ones to follow.

Have a safe and healthy weekend.
