These bilingual posters educate workers on how to work safely with machinery on the farm.  Developed by two Occupational Health Interns (OHIP) during their internship with the National Farm Medicine Center, these posters accompany the Seguridad en las Lecherías curriculum.

Este diccionario ilustrado bilingüe de MCN, "Seguridad en Palabras/ Safety in Words", muestra los peligros que hay en el lugar de trabajo y las mejores prácticas para la salud y la seguridad en la agricultura. Cuenta la historia de un trabajador mexicano de una granja lechera que se lesiona en el trabajo y los pasos que él y su empleador dan para asegurarse de que reciba sus beneficios y la granja mejore su seguridad. Incluye historias aplicables en todo Estados Unidos y otras específicas de cada estado. 

This website and training material were developed to give communities and promotores ways to help farm workers learn how to protect themselves from pesticide exposure.

The project and all materials on the website were developed by the California Poison Control System in collaboration with the the Western Center for Agricultural Health and Safety at the University of California, Davis and the California Department of Pesticide Regulation.

HEAT ILLNESS CAN BE DEADLY. Every year, thousands of workers become sick from exposure to heat, and some even die. These illnesses and deaths are preventable.

OSHA has now posted a new Heat Illness Web Page that includes educational materials in English and Spanish, including low-literacy fact sheets for workers, worksite and community posters, and a public service announcement from Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis.  The Web page also includes a video from Assistant Secretary Dr. David Michaels (in English with a Spanish transcript).  OSHA will be posting additional materials on the Heat Illness Web page, including a lesson plan that employers can use to train their workers to stay safe in the heat and a heat index Smartphone app.

California Department of Public Health, Division of Environmental and Occupational Disease Control has identified several cases of mercury toxicity linked to the use of adulterated, unlabelled face creams in the Latino community.  

A bilingual training kit for community health workers to educate families about in home pesticide safety.  Includes a step-by-step facilitator guide with handouts and a power point slide slow.  Developed by the Center for Environmental Resource Management at UTEP for US-Mexico border residents.

A training guide for Promotor(a) programs from Migrant Health Promotion.

Educational comic book about the sources of indoor pollution and ways to minimize exposure. Offers safe alternatives to clean homes. English and Spanish.

The first section of the document is tailored to each Collaborative Topic (diabetes, cancer, etc.) with suggestions for how CHWs can promote significant outcomes within a variety of measures. The second section includes a grid describing roles for CHWs in five of six components of the Chronic Care Model, aligned with already-established Change Concepts such as "Set and document self-management goals collaboratively with patients." For each Change Concept, a number of high-potential Change Ideas are presented.

A listing with links and ordering information to the EPA's bilingual posters, handbooks, guides, videos, CDs and other materials about pesticide safety and how to recognize and treat heat related illnesses.

Este libro cómico sobre pesticidas está dirigido a los trabajadores comunitarios y a las familias de trabajadores agrícolas migrantes y temporales. Tiene por objeto educar a los padres sobre los riesgos de exposición a pesticidas que tienen sus hijos y cómo reducir estos riesgos de exposición. La última edición sólo está disponible en español, aunque estamos trabajando para publicar una versión actualizada en inglés.

Spanish radio novelas called, Las Historias de Melesio.  With funding from the EPA Region III, MCN partnered with Rural Family Development of the Virginia Council of Churches to produce five radio novelas to promote environmental health information.
